Sustainable transport
Our
sustainable transport initiatives promote schemes and incentives to help our students and staff walk, cycle and use public transport
more so as to encourage environmental responsibility. As part of this, we can offer discounts for bus travel and cycle purchase, plus you can get
involved with seasonal campaigns and incentives, and join the University's car share scheme.
If you're a visitor to the University looking for travel information on how
to get here, check our campus travel guides.
"Our Transport Strategy aims to significantly decrease
car parking demand on campus and reduce the impact of University generated
traffic on the local environment, particularly in terms of congestion and carbon
emission levels. This will be achieved by increasing the opportunities for
staff, students and other campus users to travel by alternative means of
transport and a long term commitment to changing travel patterns related to
work, thereby reducing the need for single occupancy car journeys - and promote
a sustainable, integrated approach to transport both on and off campus."
