Conceptual and normative clarification of Transitional Justice

Research area chair: Fabian Freyenhagen, Philosophy and Human Rights Centre

Disciplines such as political sciences, philosophy, law, literature, sociology and history have shaped our current understanding of what transitional justice is and continue to clarify the challenges that this evolving field encounters.

The network will expand on this area of work and open new discussions on topics such as the tradeoffs that transitional societies face or the conceptual and normative issues raised by the different mechanisms used in transitional justice processes.
