Andrew “Harry” Harrison is a co-convener of the TJN. Harry is a member of the Departments of Biological Sciences and Mathematical Sciences, and is also Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Biological Systems. He read Physics and Astrophysics at Manchester University, and then completed a PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh. During postdoctoral work at Cambridge he became interested in biology and switched fields into bioinformatics in 1999, when he moved to UCL. He moved to Essex in 2004 to set up a research group in bioinformatics. His research interests are in the analysis of high-throughput measurements of biological systems. In respect with transitional justice, Harry is interested in improving the analysis of data from technologies such as DNA sequencing which are applied in the forensic sciences.
