Pablo De Greiff

The speaker for the 2013 Annual Lecture was Pablo De Greiff, Director of Research at the International Center of Transitional Justice in New York and the first United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Promotion of Truth, Justice, Reparations and Guarantees of Non-Recurrence.

Pablo De Greiff is a human rights activist who was born in Colombia and graduated from Yale University in 1986, and then completed his PhD. at Northwestern University in 1992. He was Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the State University of New York from 1992 to 2002, and Associate Professor there in 2000-2003. He was a Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellow at the Center for Human Values, Princeton University, in 2000-2001.He joined the ICTJ in 2001 and became the first United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Promotion of Truth, Justice, Reparations and Guarantees of Non-Recurrence in 2012.

Professor Patricia Viseur Sellers

The speaker for the 2012 Annual Lecture was Professor Patricia Viseur Sellers.

Patricia Sellers is a Visiting Fellow at Kellogg College, University of Oxford, an international lawyer and legal consultant in international human rights law, international criminal law, humanitarian law and human rights law. She is special advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Children in Armed Conflict. From 1994-2007, Professor Sellers was the Legal Advisor for Gender Related Crimes and Senior Acting Trial Attorney in the Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.
