Structural Equation Modelling with Mplus

Thomas Scotto is Professor at the University of Essex.
- The course aims to provide participants with the ability to design, implement, and critically evaluate measurement and structural models. Core competencies developed in the first week will include the conceptualization, estimation, and interpretation of path analytic models, confirmatory factor analysis, and models that combine the two. In the second week, we move on to multiple group analysis, the analysis of panel data, and recent advances including Latent Growth Curve Modelling and Latent Class Analysis. These competencies will be developed through the use of Mplus to analyse data sets related to applications from a variety of disciplines. Students are encouraged to bring their own data, and are encouraged to contact the instructor at firstname.lastname@example.org if they wish to hear more particulars about the course. This is an introductory course and will begin with the basics.
- A working familiarity with multiple regression is necessary for success in this class. In addition, some familiarity with matrix algebra might be helpful, but is not necessary.
