Language Requirements
Although a small number of study abroad placements require knowledge of
another language, the majority do not.
Students on Modern Languages
degrees will be required to take their classes in the local languages, and
this may be a requirement for European Studies or Latin American Studies
Degrees. Therefore a higher degree of language proficiency will be required.
You are advised to discuss language requirements with your departmental
Study Abroad Officer and the relevant language coordinator
in the Department of Languages and Linguistics.
The
languages of instruction at all of the Essex Abroad partners universities
are indicated on the
partner university lists.
