When should I apply?
I am applying from the UK or EU for entry in October 2012
If you are applying from the UK or any other EU country for entry in
October 2012, you should send your application to UCAS as soon as possible
after 1 September 2011 and no later than 15 January 2012.
If your application is received by UCAS after 15 January 2012, it will be
forwarded to the universities you have listed and considered at the
universities’ discretion. We normally continue to consider applications
after this date, subject to the availability of places on the relevant
course.
I am applying from outside the EU for entry in October 2012
If you are applying from outside the European Union for entry in October
2012, you should aim to send your application to UCAS no later than 30 June
2012.
I am applying for a course at East 15 Acting School
If you apply for a course at East 15 Acting School, in addition to
applying through UCAS, you must also apply direct to East 15. You are
required to attend an audition, interview or technical theatre assessment,
for almost all courses. For further information, please visit:
www.east15.ac.uk.
I am thinking of deferring my entry to 2013
Deferring your entry to 2013 to take a gap year may enhance your
application. A year abroad can add valuable cultural and linguistic
experience and if you use your gap year to work and earn money to support
your higher education study, this would certainly be viewed as using your
time wisely.
If you intend to defer entry for a year, you can apply in the normal way
during 2011-12, but indicate clearly on your UCAS application that you wish
to enter in 2013. You may wish to provide details of how you intend to spend
your intervening year. We consider applications for deferred entry on the
same basis as those for entry in October 2012.
I am applying through UCAS Extra
We may be prepared to consider an application through UCAS Extra, subject
to the availability of places. Please check the UCAS website for details of
course vacancies and entry requirements in UCAS prior to making your UCAS
Extra application. We would also advise you to submit a new personal
statement and reference directly to us, particularly if the subject emphasis
of your course has altered since making your initial application.
