Parents Learning Allowance
The Parents’ Learning Allowance (PLA) helps students with dependent
children. How much you get depends on your income and that of your
dependants (including your husband, wife or partner).
In 2011/2012, eligible students may receive up to £1,508. The grant is
normally paid in three instalments with your Student Loan. You do not have
to repay this help. Jobcentre Plus will not count this grant as income when
they work our your benefit entitlement.
