Access to Learning Fund: Postgraduate Bursary

The Postgraduate Bursary scheme has been set up specifically to assist postgraduate Pre-registration and Acting students, who – due to the intensive nature of their studies – have few opportunities to work during term-time. You are expected to have taken up other funding opportunities for which you are eligible, e.g. NHS Bursary, Career Development Loan, Child Tax Credits, etc, before applying for a postgraduate bursary.

The bursary is a non-repayable grant from the Access to Learning Fund (ALF). ALF is allocated to the University by the Government and provides discretionary financial assistance for students to help them access and remain in higher education. We can use a small proportion of the total ALF fund to offer postgraduate bursaries, but the money available is limited and so may not be able to help everyone who applies.
