Surveys season 2013
Zain Kukaswadia, VP Education, Essex Students' Union and Professor Jane Wright, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic Standards
Four major student satisfaction surveys will be going live during the spring term, asking Essex students to have their say about studying at Essex.
Each year it's important that as many students as possible take part so the University gets a complete picture
of what it's like to live and learn at Essex - and make improvements where necessary. Great prizes are up for grabs for those who complete their survey,
including an iPad, Amazon vouchers and other goodies.
To complete your survey, you will be sent a link by e-mail, or you can log on through the
2013 Surveys gateway.*
All four surveys broadly follow a similar format and cover most elements of University life,
such as teaching, learning resources, accommodation and career development.
* Please note: Three surveys (NSS, SSS and PTES) are live from 1 February until April/June 2013.
All postgraduate research students will be invited to complete the PRES survey from 1 March to mid-May 2013.
About the four surveys
Student Satisfaction Survey
From February to April the University of Essex's own Student Satisfaction Survey goes live.
This tells us on a local level how we're doing and where we can make improvements. It's also a good way to
become familiar with how you might answer the NSS as a final year undergraduate.
National Student Survey
From February to April 2012 the National Student Survey goes live.
Results from this feed into University league tables that feature in national newspapers.
Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey
From February to June the Postgraduate
Taught Experience Survey goes live, giving Masters students a chance to have their say.
Postgraduate Research Experience Survey
From March to May the Postgraduate
Research Experience Survey goes live, giving Research postgradate students a chance to have their say.
