New £26m Student Centre for Colchester Campus
Major new centre to enhance student experience planned for late 2014
We are building a major new centre to enhance the student experience at
Colchester Campus. This significant project forms part of the University’s £200
million-plus capital investment plan to improve facilities across our three
campuses - and it is at the heart of our efforts to offer the best possible
facilities to current and future Essex students. The scheme will include a new
'one-stop-shop' student centre that houses a number of student services, and an
extension to the existing Albert Sloman Library.

The new buildings are planned for completion by late 2014, and the
architects are Patel Taylor, who designed the University’s award-winning
Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall.
