New facilities for our Colchester Campus
Latest news
Read all of the latest news about this significant project for our Colchester
Campus, as we work towards the Autumn 2014 opening of our new Student Centre and library extension.
We are building an extension to our Albert Sloman Library and a new Student Centre at our Colchester Campus.
These two new buildings are at the heart of our commitment to offer excellence in education, by providing the best possible facilities to current and future Essex
students. The work is expected to be completed in Autumn 2014.
The Library extension will offer 388 new study spaces and a new 24/7 postgraduate reading room with 42 study spaces, and will enable us to house 1.4 million books. The Student Centre
will house a 250 study space reading room, our new Student Services Hub, our IT Helpdesk, and a
state-of-the-art media centre. While building work is underway we are working hard to minimise disruption to our students.
