Sailing Success for TASS Sport Scholar

Rheanna Pavey has been making waves on the British sailing circuit, with standout performances in a series of national qualifying events. The 18 year old sailor, who is supported on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme at the University, is ranked 1st at Under 18 and Under 21 age groups and sits 4th overall in the senior category. Following success at the RYA Volvo National Championships in Pwllheli, finishing 16th overall and 2nd GBR female, Rheanna has now secured a spot for the GBR team competing at the Laser Radial Youth World Championships in Brisbane, Australia at the end of June. She has also been selected to compete at the Under 21 European Championships and Youth European Championships in Belgium in August.

Before heading off to the sunny climes of the Gold Coast, the next stop for Rheanna will be the Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth at the beginning of June. We wish Rheanna the very best of luck in her upcoming competitions.
