The 2013 Awards Dinner

The University held its first ever joint Awards Dinner in the Ivor Crewe lecture hall on 1 May 2013. For the first time, the Sports Awards, Golden Guilds and VOSCARs were combined. A truly memorable way to celebrate so many student achievements under one roof.

Members of the University's senior management team attended, including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Students' Union. Approximately 330 people attended to honour recipients of Golden Guilds and VOSCARs as well as 45 students receiving their Sports Awards Colours in recognition of three years of dedication to University sport. 17 Exceptional Service to Sport awards were given and four students received the Tony Rich Award for Outstanding Sporting Achievement. This award has been dedicated to Tony Rich, the University's former Registrar and Secretary in honour to his commitment and involvement in Sport at Essex.
