Volunteering Opportunities

These courses provide an excellent opportunity for students and staff to add breadth to their CV and are an essential bolt-on to those studying sports science. However, the leisure market is a desperately competitive environment and those looking for employment not only need qualifications, but actual experience as well. The university volunteering programme provides this opportunity. The community sports programme, delivered by the V-Team, matches students/staff with a volunteer placement that suits their availability and interest. Those who take part in the community sports programme have the chance to receive a financial contribution towards their coaching qualifications taken, in exchange for an agreed number of hours voluntary work. In addition, some placements may involve further training such as first aid and child protection courses, as well as the opportunity for recognition through Millennium Volunteers and the Fast Track Essex Skills Award.
