Are you an Irish lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered (LGBT) person who currently lives in London?

If so, then you may be interested in participating in a research study carried out by Dr. Roisin Ryan-Flood from the University of Essex. The research project will examine the experiences of Irish LGBT people living in London.

There is a long history of Irish migration to the UK, particularly London. In addition, many Irish LGBT people have emigrated in search of a more supportive social climate. London has an international reputation for established queer communities and tolerance of sexual diversity.

This study will explore Irish LGBT migrants' reasons for moving to London and experiences there. Participants will therefore be interviewed about their experiences as LGBT migrants. Interviews will last approximately one hour and will either take place in our office at the University College of London or in an environment where you feel comfortable. All interviews will be strictly confidential and steps will be taken to ensure participants' anonymity. In addition, they are free to withdraw from the project at any time and to withdraw their interview material. This study has been approved by the ethics committee of the University of Essex.

If you would like to take part in the study, or have any questions about the research, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
