Working with business and communities

Services for business

We offer a huge range of services to support businesses and organisations. At both our Colchester and Southend campuses we provide training courses, support, advice and the chance to work with leading academics.

Knowledge exchange is about the exchange of ideas, research and experience with non-academic audiences. There are many opportunities for businesses and organisations to get involved and work with us.

As a leading research-intensive department we can work in partnership with businesses, charities, voluntary organisations and use our resources and expertise to support our community.

We have particular expertise in the following areas:

  • social research methods (interviewing, focus groups);
  • survey analysis;
  • documenting oral history;
  • counter-terrorism and surveillance;
  • youth justice system;
  • labour markets; and
  • social mobility.
