Accommodation
The Colchester Campus has a range of student accommodation suited to a variety of needs and all within walking distance of the academic departments and campus facilities. Every flat has self-catering facilities, including microwave oven and freezers and each room has a telephone with free internal service and a connection point with free access to the internet. The student accommodation is also available during the summer vacation for conferences and summer schools. Further information is also available on the University accommodation website.
The Southend Campus has the University Square, the new student accommodation which is due for completion in September 2010. The development of the 561-room University Square includes many green and sustainable features. The flats have ‘cluster’ kitchens which have a modern/contemporary feel and, along with the study rooms, will offer high-quality accommodation for students in October. Current Southend Campus students and prospective students will be able to tour the accommodation from March 2010. Further information is also available on the University accommodation website.
At the Loughton Campus many students live in house/flat shares, these are found through local letting agents, private landlords who approach East 15 directly, and current East 15 students who have spaces available in the houses they are living in. Another popular option is to live with a host family, these are families in the area who enjoy taking in East 15 students, and many have been doing so for numerous years. Further information is also available on the University accommodation website.
