State Rooms, Buckingham Palace
CELEBRATE THE QUEEN'S GOLDEN JUBILEE
on Wednesday 21st August.
With a special combined visit to:
State Rooms, Buckingham Palace
View the magnificent State Rooms used extensively by The Queen and
members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on
State, ceremonial and official occasions. The Ball Supper Room will be
open in its entirety for the first
time this year, showing a special exhibition of gifts made to The Queen
on State Visits during her reign. The visit includes a walk along the
south side of the Palace garden.
The Queen's Gallery
The inaugural exhibition will be a spectacular celebration, featuring
450 outstanding works of art, mixing the famous with the unexpected. "Royal
Treasures: A Golden Jubilee Celebration" will show the
highlights of five centuries of Royal collecting, taken from eight royal
residences and demonstrating the breadth of the Royal Collection.
The Royal Mews
The Royal Mews is a living part of Britain's heritage, where visitors
can view the coaches and carriages used for events such as the Trooping
of the Colour and Royal Weddings. It is also home to The Queen's Windsor
Grey and Cleveland Bay horses. You can see them
being groomed, rested, fed, or being trained for public duties in the
riding school, from the special viewing area.
