Terms of Reference
The Committee will:
- have oversight of research strategy at University and departmental
levels;
- sustain and improve the University's research performance;
- take responsibility for the preparation of the University's
submission to the Research Assessment Exercise;
- establish and promote models of good practice for the management of
research at departmental level, and to ensure that all departments have
suitable structures in place;
- advise departments on the strategic use of the centrally-provided
research funds available to them, and receive annual reports from
departments on their strategic research investments and the outcomes;
- make an annual report to Senate on departments' research performance, and any other research-related matters of which it wishes Senate to be aware.
