Research Governance
The Research and Enterprise Office has overall responsibility for the governance of research within the University. The ESRC's Research Ethics Framework states that "research governance concerns the development of shared standards and mechanisms that permit the proper management and monitoring of research and, if necessary, allow sanctions to be brought in cases of research misconduct". Research governance mechanisms apply to research undertaken by all staff and students of the University whether it is externally or internally funded.
