BBSRC - Research Development Fellowships
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council offers Research Development Fellowships to support scientists wishing to undertake new directions in their research. It particularly encourages applicants who seek to develop a systems biology approach to their research or interdisciplinary dimensions by integrating new techniques or methodologies. Proposals are also encouraged in the area of bioenergy research. Up to five fellowships are available for scientists who are members of academic staff of a UK university who - at 1st October 2008 - will have worked for a minimum of five years in their current or similar post. Awards are for a flexible period of one to three years. They include a research support grant to cover the costs associated with the proposed research development activities, such as the consumables costs of learning a new technique in a host laboratory.
