Each funder has different research funding priorities, policies and schemes. It is important to identify opportunities that closely match your requirements, and Research and Enterprise Managers (REMs) can assist you with this. You can help by:

Contacting the REM for your Faculty at an early stage
sending a short outline of your research interests or plans and / or arranging a meeting with your REM to discuss your plans
signing up for funding alerts that are of particular interest to you using:

let your REM know about the outcome of your application, especially if you are unsuccessful, as he or she might be able to help you find alternative sources of funding.
