REO Seminar: Patents and Prosperity
European Patent Attorney, Paul Harrison, from the company IP21, is visiting the University on Tuesday the 24th April 2012. Paul will be giving a presentation on how to protect and prosper from "Intellectual Property" (IP).
The seminar will start with Paul describing different ways, rules and costs for protecting the ideas, creations and inventions that you generate. He will be covering a range of issues - such as the protection of software/firmware, smart phone apps and bio-science IP, plus guidelines about when/whether to publish.
In the second half of the seminar, there will be a series of "Dragon's Den" type mini-sessions, where you can come to discuss in confidence any ideas (no matter how crazy!) and how you might fund their development, with Paul and Professor David Crawford of the Research and Enterprise Office.
Refreshments will be available during the seminar. To book a place e-mail Jacqui Taylor-Roberts.
Venue: Seminar Room 1N1.4.1, Networks Centre
Date: 24th April 2012
