The University of Essex has been given funding from the government’s Economic Challenge Investment Fund (ECIF) to put together a programme of skills-related training and resources in Essex and Suffolk. Working in partnership with University College Suffolk (UCS), Colchester Borough Council and the Essex R&D Network, the project will reach out to businesses and individuals (including graduates) in the region to help them maximise their skills and increase both profitability and employability. ECIF offers graduate placements, start up workshops, an online skills assessment, innovation workshops and skills training workshops until the end of September 2010.
An easy to use online skills assessment which helps you take a look at your core skills and how they can be transferred to other types of work. You will receive personalised feedback and links to resources to help you improve.
Training ranges from entrepreneurial expertise with Doug Richard’s School for Startups, innovation workshops for companies, search engine optimisation, to sector specific training for individuals and businesses in Essex and Suffolk.
For University of Essex graduates: short placements with basic expenses covered – an invaluable opportunity to add relevant experience to your C.V. For employers: quality graduates to help you with short term projects - an injection of fresh thinking for your organisation.
