New course approval
Part 1: Approval for Publicity, Notes
and Guidance
There are two parts to
course approval that can be dealt with together if required. Part 1,
Approval for Publicity, requires the department to make a general case
that the proposed course is academically coherent and justify its
introduction. Once Approval for Publicity is granted, the new course may
be advertised.
An application for Part 1 approval should be made using the

Part 1 approval requires approval of the resource implications of the
proposed new course.
Resource Implications
All new
courses have resource implications and your Faculty Accountant
will
help departments in identifying costs and advise on any bids which
may need to be made for additional funding. The proposer
should contact the Faculty Accountant, who will provide a costing
report for consideration by the PVC.
