Professor Jules Pretty, PVCProfessor Jules Pretty was appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability and Resources) in 2010 and is also responsible for the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Key roles:

Professor Pretty is one of four Pro-Vice-Chancellors who deputise for the Vice-Chancellor and support the Vice-Chancellor in strategic planning and management.

As Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability and Resources), Professor Pretty is responsible for sustainability, student recruitment targets, estates-related issues, equipment for research and teaching, space allocation, timetabling, health and safety, and transport policy.

He is also responsible for the strategic development of the academic departments in the Faculty of Science and Engineering: Biological Sciences; Computer Science and Electronic Engineering; Health and Human Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; and Psychology.

Professor Pretty is link Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Communications and External Relations; Estate Management; Human Resources; and the Planning Office.

Together with the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Secretary, and the Director of Finance, the four Pro-Vice-Chancellors constitute the University's senior management team, the University Steering Group (USG).
