BIOGRAPHY

I joined the University of Essex in 2005 where I completed a BSc in Psychology from 2005-2008, during which I was awarded the A. T. Welford Memorial Prize for the highest mark in second year statistics. In 2008 I was awarded an ESRC 1+3 competitive studentship to fund a Masters and PhD. I completed an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology from 2008-2009, in which I was awarded a prize for the highest dissertation mark. I began my PhD in October 2009, and am now in my final year. The expected completion date of my thesis is September 2012.

RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My research interests include the study of immediate memory, specifically investigating the effect of list length and output order in two immediate memory tasks, serial recall and free recall. My thesis has looked at several different variables and focused on understanding the effect of list length on the performance of the two tasks.
