A full outline of the module will be distributed during the first lecture.  The module consists of one 2-hr lecture per week, one office hour per week and 1 tutorial every five-week period.  Assessment of this module will be based on coursework (50%), and an end-of-year exam (50%). Coursework consists of two essays; one in term 1 and one in term 2 (counting 10% each towards the overall mark), and two multiple-choice tests; one in term 1 and one in term 2 (counting 15% each towards the overall mark).

This module will be taught by Dr Paul Hibbard, Dr Vincenzo Romei, Prof Christine Temple and Dr Helen Standage in the autumn term, and by Prof Christine Temple, Dr Andrew Simpson and Dr Philip Cozzolino in the spring term. Dr Helen Standage will provide tutorials which support the learning of material taught in the main lectures.
