FUNDING

For all three kinds of studentship the first step is to identify a research area which you would like to investigate. Look carefully at the Research Pages and see if there is a member of staff who has research interests that coincide with your own. If you are unsure please contact us and we will endeavour to find an area of mutual interest between you and one of our research staffs (Lesley Monk lamonk@essex.ac.uk). If you find a member of staff whose interests match yours, contact them (initially by e-mail) giving your personal details and educational history.
Once you and your chosen supervisor have agreed a research topic, you are then ready to complete the online application form (CLICK HERE). This form, including references, must be completed and processed BEFORE the deadlines shown below.
For all three kinds of studentship the minimum entry requirement is a 2.i Honours degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or a related discipline. If you have not been awarded a degree already then any offer will be conditional on you obtaining a 2.i. It is not essential to have a Masters degree, although in some cases this may be an advantage. If English is not your first language you will also need to provide evidence that your English is of a high standard.
Details of each kind of studentship follow.
