Body orthographic neighbour searches

Due to the wide range of grapheme-phoneme correspondences, it was not possible to include the body orthographic neighbours in the database.  In order to search for body orthographic neighbours using the above form, try the following steps:

  • specify the number of syllables (using the only words with option)
  • specify what letters the word ends with
  • if necessary, specify which phonemes the word must contain

For example, the specification below will generate the body orthographic neighbours of cat

  • only words with 1 syllable
  • words which end with the letter(s) at
  • words which contain a as in pat ({)

Rime neighbors (phonological body neighbors) can be generated using a similar technique.

Please Note: If the above search form is insufficient for your needs, please contact us directly using the e-mail given below to discuss additional searches.
