The University of Essex is one of the top research Universities in the UK and our teaching is based on and reinforced by research carried out in the School.  Teaching is aided by state of the art skills laboratories and resources. Teaching takes place in newly, purpose-built accommodation in Colchester and central Southend. Our courses are taught by knowledgeable and skilled staff who understand contemporary health care, as the majority of staff in the School of Health and Human Sciences are qualified health care professionals and academic.

The aim of our professional programmes is to train people to work in modern health services.  Studying Nursing at Essex will prepare you through practical experience and problem based teaching.

If you are eligible to study nursing in the School of Health & Human Sciences your fees will be paid and you will also be awarded a learning support grant of £4000.  You will also be eligible to apply for an NHS bursary.  In addition local students will receive a laptop computer.

BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy

Are you someone who would like to assist others to take control of their own lives within their environment? Do you want to promote autonomy, growth, development and independence within others? Maybe you should consider a career as an Occupational Therapist.

The BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy is a full-time (45 week/year) programme studied over two years. In order to study the programme students must have a relevant first degree. (If you do not have a first degree, the University of Essex also offers a 4 year part-time programme)

The programme is offered at the University of Essex from the Colchester Campus.
