Proofreading
This website provides guidance to students, proofreaders and University
supervisors about good practice in relation to third-party proofreading of student work.
The systems and protocols described in the University
policy and guidance on proofreading are the result of an ongoing project to
review commercial and third-party proofreading on campus, ensuring best practice
in proofreading at the University in relation to student texts.
Register of local proofreaders
The University Skills Centre (USC) maintains a list of
freelance
proofreaders who offer their services to students and staff at Essex
University. Please be aware that the USC does not seek to promote proofreading
of student work nor to recommend proofreaders on this list.
Note for proofreaders
To add your name to the list of local proofreaders (previously maintained by
the Albert Sloman Library) please complete the
registration form.
