Introduction
The University has a structured approach to planning that is overseen by the
Planning Office. The Planning Office facilitates consultation with all
departments and sections of the University regarding strategic planning and
ensures coherence of supporting strategies and departmental plans with the
overall University strategy.
The Planning Office also provides information and statistics to departments
and USG and liaises with departments and sections over student intake targets,
forecast student numbers and academic and administrative plans. It is
responsible for reporting to the Funding Council (HEFCE) on institutional
strategies and for funding-related reporting and returns.
The Planning Office supports regional development through its involvement in
specific collaborative projects and through support for growth and development
across all the University of Essex campuses and partners. It is
responsible for the planning, funding and monitoring of growth and student
numbers at all locations.
