Our MA modules are taught in small groups by expert academic staff, giving you the opportunity for thorough and intensive investigation of a wide range of philosophers and topics.

As a philosophy postgraduate student at Essex, you can participate in a unique series of summer schools at universities across Europe. Up to four postgraduate students (Masters or research) from participating universities can attend the two-week Intensive Programmes in Democracy and Cosmopolitanism, which are taking place over the next three years (2013–15).

2013 programme

The 2013 Erasmus Intensive Programme will be hosted by the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands from 15–28 July 2013. Previous Intensive Programmes took place in Krakow and Ankara.

Participating universities are Tilburg University in the Netherlands, Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, Antwerp University in Belgium, as well as the University of Essex.

The programme is funded by the European Union, which provides reimbursement for the main part of travel and subsistence costs for participating students.
