Philosophy & the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Dr Nicholas Joll has published a book entitled Philosophy & the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The book is an edited collection of nine chapters covering topics such as the meaning of life, vegetarianism, the ethics of entertainment, artificial intelligence, multiple worlds, God, and philosophical method.

Dr Joll was awarded his PhD by the Philosophy Department at Essex in 2005, having been supervised by Béatrice Han-Pile. As well as the University of Essex, he has taught at the University of Central Lancashire, the Open University, and the University of Hertfordshire, where he is currently a Visiting Lecturer.

The book was officially launched at a special event at the Wivenhoe Bookshop on Friday 13 June and is published by Palgrave Macmillan.
