The Graduate Admissions Office, based at the Colchester campus, is responsible for managing the process of admission to degrees and other qualifications at postgraduate level, and for providing applicants with the non-academic information they need about joining the University of Essex. It is not part of the Graduate School which deals with procedures after students have registered with the University.

The Graduate Admissions Office also processes applications for:

Biological Sciences
Computer Science and Electronic Engineering
Essex Business School
Language and Linguistics
Law
Literature, Film and Theatre Studies
Philosophy
Psychology
Sociology

Applications for departments, other than those listed above, should be addressed to the Graduate Administrator of the relevant department

Opening Hours

The Graduate Admissions Office is open:
Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm
Friday, 9am-4.45pm

Location

The Graduate Admissions Office is based at the Colchester campus in Room 5S.7.30, which is on Floor 7 and best reached via the Department of Law entrance on Square 4.

Visiting the University

The Graduate Admissions Office will be holding two Postgraduate Open Days on Wednesday 11 November 2009 and Wednesday 17 March 2010. These aim to inform students about postgraduate life and study at Essex, with opportunities to talk to representatives from departments and centres. You will be able to register online to attend the next Postgraduate Open Days from September 2009, from the University home page.

You are welcome to visit the University at any other time, although we recommend you contact the department or centre in which you wish to study before hand.
