As a new member of staff at the University you are bound to have lots of questions - everything from where to go on your first day through to training and development opportunities.

However big or small your queries we are here to help so you can feel settled in as soon as possible. You can find answers to many of your questions on our HR website - check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or use the other buttons on the left of this page. You can find a helpful list of things to do in your first week here.

We have also provided links below to other useful University web pages, but if you can't find what you need just let us know at staffing@essex.ac.uk and we'll do our best to help.

International Staff?

Starting work in a new country is an exciting step. The University of Essex subscribes to the International Staff website and we hope this will give you all the information you need to make your move to the UK as smooth as possible. It not only provides information on all aspects of living in the UK, but contains specific information relevant to living and working in Essex.
