Thesis

Tackling health inequalities through physical activity- Exploring the implementation and impact of a national system partnership

In partnership with Sport England, Sport for Confidence (SfC) has implemented inclusive physical activity programmes at leisure centres for marginalised populations, combining expertise of OTs and sport coaches to tackle physical inactivity. This research aims to implement an iterative, collaborative evaluation process to understand the partnership SfC has with Sport England and how the partnership addresses physical inactivity among marginalised populations through their unique delivery model.

Research interests

Addressing health inequalities through physical activity

Physical inactivity disproportionately impacts people from various marginalised populations such as those with a disability, those living in within a lower socio-economic status, and elderly. Being able to synthesise the effectiveness and impact systems thinking approaches has with addressing physical inactivity will enhance the quality of service participants engage with in addition to contributing to improved population health research.
