Occupational Health Service
The Occupational Health Service which is a part of the OHSAS provides professional advice on work-related health issues. This part of the OHSAS website contains information on the occupational health services and policies available to University staff. It also offers a wide range of resources which promotes good health and wellbeing.
The Occupational Health Service aims to be proactive in the prevention of work related ill health.
We provide:
- confidential and impartial advice and support relating to any issue affecting the health and well-being of an individual member of staff
- specialist guidance and advice to HR Officers, Heads of Departments/Sections and Supervisors regarding fitness for work and the effect of ill health on an individual's employment.
Occupational Health does not provide treatments or First Aid cover, nor health services normally provided by GP practices, other NHS health services or NHS Walk-in Centres.
The Health Centre on the Colchester campus provides GP services for patients registered with the Rowhedge Practice, and is not part of the Occupational Health Service. The Health Centre can be contacted on (01206) 794484. The NHS website will help you find your local GP if you need to register.
If you are not registered with a General Practitioner (GP) or need information about UK health services, you may find this web link to the Citizens Advice Bureau helpful.
