Find out about postgraduate study at the University of Essex
Discover how you can build on your skills and knowledge while benefiting from the University of Essex's reputation for outstanding research by visiting this month’s Postgraduate Open Day.
The university is rated in the top ten nationally for the quality of its research and the open day will be held from 4.30 to 7.30pm on Wednesday November 10 at the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall on the Colchester Campus.
Visitors will have the chance to meet academic representatives from all departments and subject areas plus staff from support services such as Graduate Admissions, Student Support, Careers, Accommodation and the Students’ Union,
Current students will also be offering guided tours of the campus and there will be a programme of talks covering a range of topics important to prospective students including applying to University and student funding.
The early evening timeslot is designed to allow people in full-time jobs to visit the event.
Victoria Bartholomew, from the University’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Office, said: ‘The University offers an outstanding environment for postgraduate study and was rated ninth nationally for research excellence in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in 2008.
‘If you have ever thought about undertaking a postgraduate course or research programme then we offer postgraduate opportunities across humanities, social sciences, science and engineering, and law and management.
‘All our programmes are designed to equip you with the skills demanded by today’s employers in the highly competitive world of work and our Postgraduate Open Day is a good way for you to find out more.’
