Global business conference

Southend Campus

Creative, global entrepreneurs, policy makers and researchers will be gathering at the Eighth International Entrepreneurship Forum organised by the University of Essex's School of Entrepreneurship and Business (SEB).

The event, between December 17 and 19, will be held in Ahmedabad, India, at the home of the joint organisers the Mudra Institute of Communications, in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Local Economic and Employment Development in Paris.

The theme is ‘Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Imperatives for Sustainable Global Based Knowledge Economy’ and will cover the myriad of issues preoccupying the minds of pro-active creative entrepreneurs, policy makers and researchers around the world.

It aims to provide a platform for researchers, policy makers and practitioners in recognition of the increasing flow of ideas, resources and knowledge between businesses, institutions and policy makers.

Professor Jay Mitra, Head of SEB, which is based on the Southend campus, said: 'The flows of creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation between organisations, regions and countries are probably more crucial for social and economic progress than those of finance and technology.

'This conference aims to understand and facilitate these flows through research papers, social networks, and discussion platforms. We are organising this event in one of the fastest growing economies in the world where entrepreneurial thought and action are growing apace. Our co-operation with one of India’s most exciting institutions, MICA and the OECD-LEED programme, provides an opportunity for all creative people to share their findings, ideas, practice and knowledge to and connect with their counterparts from across the world.'
