Module Description
The aim is to examine a range of approaches to the study of visial perception and its disorders. To examine current functional and anotomical understanding of perception and attention using results from the field of Cognitive neuroscience. To examine a variety of different types of impairment to the processes involved in visual receognition from a functional perspective. To explain disorders of object receognition, face receognition and visuo spacial abilities in terms of current models of cognitive processing. To introduce students to the assessment of some of the above disorders.
