Module description

This module explores the lived experience of the self and others through the contexts in which they live. Students will examine and develop their understanding of being a physiotherapist in contemporary and evolving UK practice, and consider their own development as a student healthcare professional.

Module aims

To explore the lived experience of the self and others through the contexts in which they live.
To examine and develop students’ understanding of being a physiotherapist in contemporary and evolving UK practice, and consider their own development as a student healthcare professional.

Module learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to:
1. Critically discuss factors influencing your own frame of reference as a healthcare student
2. Evaluate how your frame of reference may impact upon your development as a healthcare student
3. Synthesise factors influencing the frames of reference of others who you will collaborate with as a healthcare student
4. Demonstrate and critically discuss the expectations and requirements of you as a healthcare student
5. Investigate core theories, principles and concepts for the role of CPD in your journey as a health care professional
