Learning and teaching methods

Module will be delivered through a series of weekly lecture-seminars; 3-hours each week in autumn term (weeks 2-11). Individual tutorials can be booked with the tutor. 30 credits at level 6 equates to circa 300 hours of study (3 hours practical computing skills in lab; 37 hours taught; 260 hours independent study). Critical appraisal skills can only be achieved by practice - it is therefore important to undertake key reading ahead of each topic and complete formative preparation on a weekly basis to allow full participation in class discussion. Moodle (online learning environment) will be used extensively to provide supporting materials.
