BSC B939 Occupational Therapy
In this final module, you will have the opportunity to consolidate your learning over the duration of the programme, from both a theoretical and practical perspective, in order to prepare yourself for the transition from competent student to novice occupational therapist.
This module aims to provide you with opportunities to explore the concepts of the transformative process from competent student to a novice practitioner. You will draw on your learning and experiences gained over the duration of the programme and reflect upon the personal relevance in order to facilitate the transformation from student to occupational therapist.
On successful completion of this module, you will be able to:
Critically evaluate the differences between being a competent occupational therapy student and a novice occupational therapist
Analyse and synthesise the knowledge, skills and experiences that have been developed throughout the programme, in order to identify future directions for professional practice
Demonstrate competence and readiness to be an occupational therapist
This module will enable you to use a reflective approach to draw upon your learning and experiences throughout the programme, in order to demonstrate your competence as a future occupational therapist.
This module emphasises the importance of self-directed and autonomous learning. There will be opportunities to negotiate the content of the module based on learner-identified areas of development. You will draw upon your practice placement experiences, skills and CPD portfolios in order to consolidate your learning within this module and identify your future directions.

- Remote, open book: Your exam will take place remotely via an online learning platform. You may refer to any physical or electronic materials during the exam.
- In-person, open book: Your exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer to any physical materials such as paper study notes or a textbook during the exam. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, open book (restricted): The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer only to specific physical materials such as a named textbook during the exam. Permitted materials will be specified by your department. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, closed book: The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may not refer to any physical materials or electronic devices during the exam. There may be times when a paper dictionary,
