Module Description

This course introduces students to replication of existing empirical studies, and provides an opportunity to replicate an already published paper. Replication allows students to better understand the details of the empirical analysis, to assess its robustness, and to develop the paper in a new direction by changing one element of the paper (for example--including a new control variable, introducing an interaction term, or extending the time period or the sample size). GV914 is a prerequisite for taking this course.

Learning and Teaching Methods

The module consists of three meeting, following which each students will replicate one already published paper, and implement at least one change to that paper to assess the robustness of its findings or to test a new hypothesis.
