The research plan should be in the form of an essay or research paper and should clearly state the field of study for the research.
Students should identify and include a brief survey of the most important relevant literatury. Identify issues for research. These might include Hypotheses for empirical investigation, areas for empirical investigation of a fact-finding nature, theoretical questions that invite further investigation, Potential modifications and/or extension of existing models.
If empirical work is planned, give an indication of data sources and availability. Students should include a timetable for carrying out the research.
Include a bibliography, containing full and accurate references to the literature cited in the paper. The plan should be approximately 6000 words in length.
