BA DKAS Stage and Production Management
Students will undertake further practical production roles during this module. Roles may include (Assistant Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Technical department assistants). These roles will enable the student to develop their team working and managerial skills whilst learning through practice on practical productions.
The aims of this module are to:
1. Enhance the students skills in Stage/Production or Technical Management
2. Enhance the students Management skills
3. Enhance the students’ knowledge of the collaborative Production process in a professional environment.
4. Augment the students Professionalism in the key skills areas of:
5. Communication, Reliability, Time Management

10. Augment the students Practical Skills in the key areas of:

Small group practical classes, seminars, tutorials, independent work and supervised productions. Students learn through practice based teaching on this module. Small group seminars/ individual tutorials happen at the beginning of the module to help the student reflect on their previous module (Production Practice 1) and enable them to develop further their managerial and production skills during this module. Regular tutorials and production based meetings also support the teaching in this module.

Assessment is based on the ability to achieve the learning outcomes of the module related to the overall criteria contained in the Year Two Assessment Form and Grading Descriptors. Summative assessment is undertaken at the end of the term in which the module is taken and marks issued to students on the Assessment Form together with written tutor comments.
Students must pass both elements of assessment to pass the module.
Exam format definitions
- Remote, open book: Your exam will take place remotely via an online learning platform. You may refer to any physical or electronic materials during the exam.
- In-person, open book: Your exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer to any physical materials such as paper study notes or a textbook during the exam. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, open book (restricted): The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer only to specific physical materials such as a named textbook during the exam. Permitted materials will be specified by your department. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, closed book: The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may not refer to any physical materials or electronic devices during the exam. There may be times when a paper dictionary,
for example, may be permitted in an otherwise closed book exam. Any exceptions will be specified by your department.
