Learning Outcomes
The aim of this module is to provide practical instruction in the key ideas informing the understanding and implementation of software agents and multi-agent systems.
After completing this module, students will be expected to be able to:
1. Recognize, explain and apply the principles of agent-based systems.
2. Explain and use the principles of agent design and implementation.
3. Describe and apply a number of architectures for software agents and agent-based systems.
4. Describe and apply a number of forms of coordination and interaction between software agents and agent-based systems.
5. Design and implement a simple agent-based system.

- In-person, open book (restricted): The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer only to specific physical materials such as a named textbook during the exam. Permitted materials will be specified by your department. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, closed book: The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may not refer to any physical materials or electronic devices during the exam. There may be times when a paper dictionary,
for example, may be permitted in an otherwise closed book exam. Any exceptions will be specified by your department.
