Claire Lindsay

Claire graduated from Bournemouth University in 1996
with a degree in International Marketing Management. She has since obtained
the CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma and holds Chartered Marketer
status. Before joining the University in 2004, Claire worked in marketing
for two commercial law firms in the City of London. Claire is responsible for managing and developing the University’s brand. Her remit includes guardianship of the visual identity and house style, developing templates and best practice guides to help staff use and promote the brand, and working with departments and sections around the University on branding projects. She is also responsible for advertising and sponsorship and is the central marketing link for the Faculty of Law and Management and University of Essex Campus Services. |

After studying English Literature at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Essex, Victoria joined Communications and External Relations as Student Recruitment Assistant. In June 2003, after a year involved in undergraduate publications and recruitment, she was appointed to a postgraduate marketing post. Since then, Victoria has undertaken a marketing secondment at East 15, and a secondment with the University's Communications Office as PR and Events Officer.
As Head of Student Recruitment Marketing, Victoria deputises for Lindsey Russell on a range of committees, meetings and other projects, and is the lead person for development of the University's CRM (customer relationship management) system. She also has responsibility for developing and evaluating recruitment marketing strategies regarding the University's website and online presence, and is the marketing link for our Faculty of Social Sciences. Victoria obtained her Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Diploma in 2009.

Rich Yates

Rich is currently on secondment from Learning and Development to Interim Head of Marketing. He studied Classics at the University of Warwick and joined the University as Aimhigher Development Officer in 2006. He was Learning and Teaching Officer from 2008, during which time he studied in the Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies, before becoming Learning and Development Manager in 2010. He is on secondment until July 2014.
As Interim Head of Marketing, Rich is responsible for the marketing team's activities and deputises for Lindsey Russell on committees, meetings, and other projects. He is working towards his Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Dan Barcroft

Dan graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in English Literature in 2004 and then spent a further year as the education and welfare students' union sabbatical officer. Dan then spent over four years at the University of Cumbria as schools and colleges liaison officer, focussing on UK student recruitment and outreach work. Prior to his appointment at Essex in 2012, he was the senior student recruitment officer at the University of Reading with a varied remit focussing on EU and postgraduate student recruitment.
As Head of Home and EU Student Recruitment, Dan deputises for Lindsey Russell on a range of committees, meetings and other projects, and manages the Home and EU recruitment team. He has key responsibility for managing, developing and evaluating all student recruitment strategies and operational related activity. Dan currently represents the university on the UK committee of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is the corporate member for Essex in the Higher Education Liaison Officers Association (HELOA). He is also the lead person for post application recruitment activity and has particular interests in enhancing the applicant experience and postgraduate recruitment. Dan is also due to complete his MA in Marketing in the Winter of 2013.

Undergraduate Prospectus and Graduate Prospectus; the production of supporting recruitment and conversion publications; co-ordination of marketing photo shoots; development of market research to assist in the planning for recruitment campaigns; and overseeing the creative aspects of all work undertaken in marketing and recruitment at Essex. Laura Shephard
